European
drum companies, like their American counterparts,
scrambled during the 60's to grab as much of the
market as possible.
Trixon,
a German company, offered wild finishes and oblong
drum sizes to grab attention. The Telstar model
had a bass drum that decreased in diameter from
the batter size to the front head.
The
pictured Luxus model was the conventional standard
set that was offered by the company. Buddy Rich
played Trixon for a very short time in the middle
60's. Lionel Hampton and Kenny Clarke also endorsed
the line. Two well known British players also were
pictured playing Trixon, the jazz great Phil Seaman
and the British session player Clem Cattini.
