In
the early '70's, fiberglass and acrylic drums were
very popular. Every company eventually tried their
hand at manufacturing acrylic drums. But the rage
soon died, and many companies stopped making them.
There were a few hardy individuals who carried on
manufacturing drums made out of fiberglass.
Paul
Mason of Vancouver B.C. was, and still is, one of
these hardy individuals. He makes great kits in
stunning sparkle colors. I currently use one of
these snare drums and more than one studio engineer
has remarked about the great sound that I get out
of it.
