The
Pearl Drum Company made a big splash in the mid
70's by offering 3 different shell options with
their drums.
You could opt for all wood shells, or fiberglass
shells, or a hybrid wood/fiberglass shell. The hybrid
shell was basically a wood shell with fiberglass
sprayed on the inside. For a short while, the Fiberglass
shells were very popular and many drummers purchased
kits.
By
the mid 1980's, interest in them waned. This kit
has Fiberglass shells and heavy duty holders.
It
is in maganificent condition considering it's age.
For some 40 years the drums have been sitting in
a warehouse until I purchased them a few months
ago. They're basically new old stock.
